About us

Hibernia was opened in 2010 by Dean Carlyle, with the mission of being a customer focused Tattoo and art sanctuary.

A safe, clean, inclusive, and fully licenced space, where artists can grow and evolve, bouncing ideas off each other, and working closely with each client to produce an outstanding artwork both can be proud of, for life.

The studio is named after the character (and graffiti) filled heritage listed building, Hibernian House, in which it is located, in Sydney's Surry Hills.

Truly one of the last of it's kind, Hibernian House has been a well known haunt for the street art community for more than 3 decades.

Contact one of our friendly artists for a free consultation to get the ball rolling on your dream tattoo!

Getting to Hibernia

We are conveniently located right next to Sydney's Central Station.

Street parking in the area is very limited, so we encourage our clients to take the train wherever possible.

Please don't look for signs on the street, as we don't have any.

We're the big old green building on the corner of Elizabeth and Kippax Streets.

The entrance is next to the Indian restaurant.

Buzz number 201 on the intercom and we'll open the door for you.

Come up to level 2.

Hibernia Tattoo is on the land of the Gadigal people of the Eora nation. We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the lands on which we meet and work, and recognise that sovereignty was never ceded.
